Shortly after the shocking announcement of a Batman/Superman movie, a sequel to Man of Steel,Warner Brothers named Ben Affleck as the heir to the role of Bruce Wayne in Snyder’s next venture into the DC universe. While there is much controversy of whether or not Affleck is right for the part, especially since he is supposed to depict an older Batman as opposed to Christian Bale’s version, there may still be some hope for this superhero mash-up. Recently nominated for the hit film Argo, Affleck seems to have rebooted his image, being able to portray a more rugged and gritty character. As long as his portrayal does not reflect his work in Daredevil, the movie should not be a total disaster.
Additionally, it has been rumored that Alan Arkin, who acted along side Affleck in Argo, will take the role of Alfred, Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler. Arkin has yet to comment on any rumors, but is not denying any of the claims. It also has been said that the shaved remnants of Ben Affleck’s beard may be featured as the role of Commissioner Gordon.
